Unleaded fuel has a mixture of wax, laquer and varnish called olefins incorporated to help replace the lead and to coat and protect your engine.

While the engine benefits, the injectors suffer. With only a 1 micron tolerance any coating will eventually effect the fine spray needed to maintain maximum fuel economy, power and emission efficiency.
